A television actor, who has had some pretty famous roles, is finally coming clean about his dark past. He has admitted some serious lies that will probably cost him the future of his acting career.
"An actor who recently appeared in an episode of AMC's 'Better Call Saul' admitted Monday that he cut off his own arm and posed as a wounded veteran in an attempt to get more acting roles. Todd Latourette told local Albuquerque station KOB 4 that he sawed off and cauterized his right arm 17 years ago when he was off his medication for bipolar disorder. 'I severed my hand with a Skil saw,' he said. 'The state of my mind was a psychotic episode,'" reported the Washington Examiner.
According to reports, Todd Latourette has admitted that he cut off his own arm. The actor has frequently appeared in roles as an amputee. What's almost worse is that he has also portrayed himself as a veteran who was a military member.
Apparently, Todd began weaving his web of lies by telling folks he was wounded in combat overseas. He said he began saying this tale in order to get acting roles.
“I was dishonorable," he said in the interview. "I’m killing my career by doing this. If anyone thinks this was for personal edification, that’s not the case. I’m ousting myself from the New Mexico Film Industry. And gladly so, just to say what I’ve said.”
Reports claim he is not trying to gain sympathy or fame through coming clean but is seeking forgiveness. He is also said to be raising awareness for mental health illnesses.
