Early Wednesday morning, beloved character actor Mickey Jones passed away. The actor was 76 years old at the time of his death.
Jones had worked in Hollywood for over three decades. While he never was the star of the show, he appeared in dozens of hit TV shows and movies.
According to TMZ, Jones was best known for his recurring roles on “Justified” and “Home Improvement.” He also had roles in other TV shows including “MASH,” “Entourage,” and “Bones.” Other notable movies that he acted in were “National Lampoon’s Vacation,” “Total Recall,” “Sling Blade,” and “Tin Cup.” He appeared in many more shows than that as well, with his name on 136 credits.
Outside of his career as an actor, Mickey Jones was also a musician. He was a drummer and used to play with several notable musicians. He played with Kenny Rodgers, Bob Dylan, The First Edition, and many more. Throughout his career, he was reportedly involved with 17 gold records.
On Wednesday at around 2:17 a.m., Mickey Jones passed away. Reportedly, he had suffered from a long illness and was receiving treatment.
He had been in and out of the hospital for the last several months, though it has not been revealed what the exact illness that he was fighting was.
Jones’ rep, Cherry Hepburn, confirmed the actor’s death on Wednesday. When more information is released on the surroundings of the actor’s death, we will update here.
