On Tuesday evening, an active shooter was reported in Reno, Nevada. Police now say they have one suspect in custody.

According to reports, the shooter opened fire in an incident that lasted 20 minutes. It occurred at a luxury high-rise condominium building in Reno.

SWAT teams and local law enforcement officials responded to the scene and quickly surrounded the building. Authorities did not report any injuries besides the death of the gunman. According to the Chicago Tribune, "It wasn't immediately clear whether he was killed by police gunfire or his own. No one else, including the hostage, was hurt."

“When you heard it’s coming from above it reminds you of the guy shooting from Mandalay Bay,” said Mike Pavicich, a witness. "It’s scary, you know? This is the same kind of town.”

One trooper reported that the gunfire was coming from an upper floor of the old casino building. Many officials and witnesses reported an immediate comparison to the Las Vegas attack earlier this year.
