A young man in Ohio who once appeared on the ABC reality series "Wife Swap" has been accused of killing his mother and younger brother. Jacob Stockdale, 26, is now being charged with two counts of murder for the alleged killings.

According to reports, Stockdale is suspected of shooting his brother James, 21, and his mother Kathryn, 54. He then turned the gun on himself and fired one shot to his head.

However, Stockdale survived what appears to be an attempt to end his own life. Following the 2017 shooting, he was given time to recover from surgery in order to be able to stand his upcoming trial.

The Stockdale family appeared on an episode of "Wife Swap" in 2008. The episode gave a glimpse into their family's strict and devoutly religious household. The four sons in the family were homeschooled and part of their family bluegrass band, which included their father. Kathryn was portrayed as working diligently to keep her children from succumbing "to the dangers of pop culture and dating."

The show then follows Kathryn as she switched places with another wife from a different, contrasting, family.

At this time, Stockdale could face anywhere from 15 years to life for each murder charge. Officials from the Stark County Sheriff's office in Ohio has not released any other details of the murder or a possible motive.

Do you remember seeing their family on the show? Let us know! Our hearts go out to the family members dealing with this unthinkable tragedy, please keep them in your prayers as well.
