'The Office' Family in Mourning After Losing Member for Tragic Reason

Members of Hollywood are in mourning this week after the tragic death of a longtime director. Danny Leiner sadly passed away at the age of 57 after a long battle with cancer.


Leiner had many connections throughout the film industry. He directed some of the most popular television shows (including "The Office" and "Gilmore Girls") as well as full-length movies like "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" and others.

"Leiner, who also directed 'Dude, Where's My Car?,' was prolific on the small screen as well, directing numerous episodes of TV shows including 'Arrested Development,' 'The Office,' 'The Tick,' 'Gilmore Girls,' 'Sports Night,' 'Freaks And Geeks,' 'The Sopranos,' and 'Strangers With Candy,'" reported the Daily Mail.

Fans and industry members took to social media to share kind words following the news of his passing. Everyone had such wonderful things to say about Danny. He will truly be missed.

"I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Danny Leiner, who became my friend when he directed Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. Danny was so sharp, so funny, and a great dinner companion. To his friends and family, my deepest condolences," wrote John Cho on Twitter.


"SAD NEWS: Getting word that Danny Leiner, director of HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE and DUDE, WHERE'S MY CAR?, has passed away following a long illness. He was one of my very first interviews. Such a nice guy. R.I.P.," wrote Jeff Sneider.
