‘Pretty HUGE news!!’: Kidnapping Survivor, Tortured for 9 Months, Announces Pregnancy

On June 5, 2002, when she was 14 years old, Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped. She spent the next nine torturous months as a prisoner, starved, drugged, raped and forced to carry out bizarre rituals by her captors.

They told her that they would kill her if she tried to escape. Smart said that her faith helped keep her alive during that excruciatingly painful time.

“Shortly after being kidnapped and raped for the first time, I realized that my captors could take just about everything from me,” she told Fox News

“My family, my life — everything. But they couldn’t change the fact that my parents would always love me, my family would always love me. Maybe nobody else ever would, but my family would.”

She decided that she would do whatever it took to survive: “Looking back, do I wish I had been rescued sooner? Absolutely, but I don’t regret a single decision I made, because here I am, and I don’t know if I would be otherwise.”

Smart married her husband Matthew Gilmour in 2012 in a private ceremony in Hawaii. Since then, they’ve borne two children: a 3-year-old daughter, Chloe, and a 14-month-old son James. And, excitedly, they’ve announced their third pregnancy.

Please pray for the health of the baby, and for Elizabeth’s continued healing. Be sure to read about the devastating news of Michael Jackson’s family as fans pour in for support.
