The holidays are a wonderful time for family and for giving thanks to the Lord for all that He has given us. Sadly, the holidays are a bit harder this year for the Duck Dynasty family.
Just two days before Thanksgiving, Missy Robertson's grandfather passed away. He died of lymphoma after spending the last 70 years married to Missy's grandmother.
“Five days prior to his death, my grandma, GG, fell at their home and fractured her pelvis. She was taken to a hospital and then to an in-patient [sic] rehabilitation center,” Missy wrote.
This situation created a serious challenge for the Robertson family since her grandparents were separated just hours before her grandfather passed. The family knew his time was coming to an end, so they created a plan to have them be together one last time.
“When Pops heard of these grand plans, it became apparent that he had plans of his own,” she wrote. “He didn’t want his wife of 70 years, his sweetheart, the love of his life, to see him suffering. He made that abundantly clear.”
The family used their phones to have a FaceTime chat for the couple. It was a beautiful moment and everyone will always remember it. When the call ended, Missy reported that her grandfather took his last three breaths.
"A man of God, 'Pops' was ready to go to Heaven even though his wife was miles away. The morning of the day he died, Missy and her family arranged a FaceTime call between the sweethearts. Knowing that her husband was ready to go to Heaven, she said, 'I love you so much, Tom. It’s okay. I’m going to be fine. Go on. I’ll see you there.'"
What do you think about this? If you believe in the power of love and that the couple will be reunited in heaven with our Lord and Savior, please share this post and help us inspire others to grow in their faith. Read our other articles here as well. God bless you.
