The stars of “19 Kids and Counting” are known for their conservative views and lifestyle. Derick Dillard, husband of Jill Duggard (Dillard) and star of “Counting On,” has been receiving a lot of criticism recently for expressing those conservative views.

On Wednesday, the TLC star posted on his Twitter account about a new show on the network. It is a reality show called “I Am Jazz” that follows the life of a transgender teen celebrity, Jazz Jennings.

The show will follow Jennings, who was born as a male but identifies as a girl. Derick commented on the show, saying it was an “oxymoron” that it is coined as a “reality show.”

After Dillard posted the controversial tweet, many of his followers commented. Several people were upset about Dillard’s comments, saying that he should not be focused on what a teenager is doing and that he is hypocritical for being paid by the same network.

After the negative comments, Dillard tried to clarify his statement. He chose to use the pronoun “he” in this statement, and fans started attacking again.

Some fans took to Dillard’s defense, applauding him for speaking his mind.

As of Thursday, neither TLC nor Jazz Jennings has commented on the incident.
