An unfortunate playground incident recently occurred in Greeley, Colorado, leading to the tragic death of a 6-year-old girl. Local media sources reported the sad news on Tuesday, December 12th.
According to KDVR, 6-year-old Brooklyn Thill was playing on the swingset after school hours earlier this month on December 5th. The child somehow became tangled in the straps, which wrapped around her neck.
She was only in first grade, but left a memorable imprint in the lives of those who knew her. She was described as a child who could “light up a room with the smallest of smiles” and also loved to “read, write, and create beautiful artwork.”
Brooklyn was at Children’s Hospital Colorado fighting for her life for days before she died. The family is absolutely heartbroken by the sudden accident that took their daughter’s life.
Brooklyn’s mother Natalie said, “She was my dream come true. She was perfect. She was my girlie girl."
However, Natalie and her husband Nathan are very grateful for the community’s love and support.
In honor of their daughter, the school and Nathan’s workplace participated in “Pink Princess Day,” where everyone dressed in pink. They have also raised more than $18,000 to help with medical and funeral expenses.
Nathan noted, "It meant the world to us. It would have meant the world to Brooklyn.”
On the GoFundMe Page, the family stated, “While the miracle we prayed for did not happen, we are thankful for the time we had, the precious memories of our beautiful girl, and look forward to when we will see her again!”
This news comes shortly after another elementary school student from Colorado tragically lost her life to suicide.
Please keep this young girl’s family in your prayers during this difficult time. In other recent news, Keaton Jones is suffering more attacks after his father’s identity was released.
