December 21, 2018Dec 21, 2018

On Thursday, December 20, the U.S. House of Representatives approved an enormous amount of money for President Trump’s promised border wall. They approved $5.7 billion.

According to the Daily Wire, the vote came after President Trump revealed that he would refuse to sign a short-term resolution that had been approved by the Senate, specifically because it did not include funding for the wall.

After the House approved the funding, the bill will be sent back to the Senate. The funding was passed 217-185 in the House.

President Trump Tweeted about the entire situation.

He wrote,  “The Democrats, who know Steel Slats (Wall) are necessary for Border Security, are putting politics over Country. What they are just beginning to realize is that I will not sign any of their legislation, including infrastructure, unless it has perfect Border Security. U.S.A. WINS!”

Trump continued, “With so much talk about the Wall, people are losing sight of the great job being done on our Southern Border by Border Patrol, ICE and our great Military. Remember the Caravans? Well, they didn’t get through and none are forming or on their way. Border is tight. Fake News silent!”

Later, he commented on Congress' vote.

He wrote, "Congress just passed the Criminal Justice Reform Bill known as the #FirstStepAct. Congratulations! This is a great bi-partisan achievement for everybody. When both parties work together we can keep our Country safer. A wonderful thing for the U.S.A.!!”
