Going to McDonald's should be a super happy occasion for parents and their kids. Sadly, one trip to the famous burger joint ended up being a nightmare for one family in Wisconsin.

The parents of a 4-year-old boy are reporting that when they ordered the famous Happy Meal from McDonald's, they didn't exactly get what they expected. Instead, they found a razor blade on the edge of a tool inside the box!

Luckily, they were able to take away the item before their child was potentially hurt. Now, the story is making headlines across the nation. More details have also been revealed about the scary incident.

"Scot Dymong had taken his son, Emmett, through the fast-food chain's drive-thru in Columbus, Wis., on Sunday to get a kid’s meal. Once the pair returned home, Emmett opened his meal and discovered what he thought was a new toy. 'He was super excited he had a new toy,' Dymond said to Channel 3000. 'He started waving it around and I realized it was actually a razor knife,'" reported Fox.

Scot immediately called the restaurant and the manager apologized for the mistake. The police were then notified.

"Angered by the incident, Dymond then contacted Columbus police, which reportedly took the scraper tool back to the manager at the McDonald’s, who confirmed it was something the staff uses as a cleaning tool at the restaurant," wrote Fox News.

Officials think the scraper accidentally fell off a shelf and into the box. It was not a malicious act, although it still is an extremely dangerous and serious matter.

“Always be aware of what you’re giving your children,” Lt. Dennis Weiner said to WMTV. “Give it an extra eye.”
