A tragic story is coming out of India today after a massive terror attack caused destruction and death in the area. According to reports, as many as 44 people may have been killed.

"A suicide car bomber on Thursday crashed into a bus carrying Indian police officers in Kashmir, killing at least 33 in one of the deadliest attacks on security forces in the region in almost two decades," according to Fox News.

Officials believe the attack is going to increase tensions between the Indian people and their neighbors in Pakistan. At this time, a direct motive for the deadly violence has not yet come to light.

A terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the blast. Jaish-e-Mohammad, or JeM, is a terrorist organization from Pakistan. They have been known to execute deadly attacks in the past as well.

At this time, officials are working with medical professionals to help those wounded. They said that many people were very critically wounded and they expect the death toll to rise.

"India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the attack as 'despicable' and 'dastardly.' He tweeted: 'Attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama is despicable. I strongly condemn this dastardly attack. The sacrifices of our brave security personnel shall not go in vain. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of the brave martyrs. May the injured recover quickly,'" wrote Fox News.

The incident occurred in a Muslim-majority region of the country that has been extremely hostile in recent memory. Please join us in praying for a powerful, and miraculous resolution of peace to sweep over the land.
