It has been reported that Actor Ethan Cutkosky, the person who plays a troubled teenager on the Showtime television show "Shameless," has gotten himself into some serious trouble. Ethan, 18, was recently arrested and booked for driving under the influence on Wednesday night.
TMZ first reported the incident. Ethan was apparently driving his orange BMW around at 10:30 pm and began to straddle the traffic lanes. This prompted cops to pull him over, suspecting that he might be driving under the influence of some sort of substance. TMZ was told that he did very poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested on the spot while pulled over on the side of the road.
It is unclear at this point whether the arrest was drug or alcohol related, although it is plausible that it was related to both. WGN-TV reports that Ethan admitted on the spot that he had been smoking marijuana that night and officers reportedly smelled marijuana in the car during the spot.
Ethan's representative has not commented on the incident, despite being contacted by TMZ. He was released on Thursday morning on a $5,000 bail, according to WGN-TV. Ethan is one of six children and has lived on Chicago's south side.
Ethan plays the second youngest, Gallagher, Carl, on the hit Showtime series. His character in the series has a rebellious streak and finds himself during the show in a juvenile detention center.
In breaking news, a hip-hop artist was just sentenced to a minimum of two years in prison.
