Islamic terrorists have killed at least 17 people after opening fire on innocent patrons inside a restaurant on Sunday. The attack happened in Burkina Faso, a country in West Africa.

Witnesses reported hearing a heavy exchange of gunfire. The restaurant the terrorists chose to attack is a popular place for foreigners and tourists.

“Communication Minister Remi Dandjinou told journalists that at least 17 people were dead and eight others wounded, according to a provisional toll. The victims came from several different nationalities, he said. Among the dead was at least one French national,” according to the Associated Press.

Security forces arrived at the attack in armored vehicles. At this time, no specific group has taken responsibility for the attack. Security forces were also said to have engaged with the terrorists.

According to the Associated Press, Burkina Faso is a landlocked nation in West Africa. It is one of the poorest countries in the world. It shares a northern border with Mali, which has long battled Islamic extremists.

Please join us in praying for the victims of the attack and for their families. We pray for God’s healing grace upon their lives during this tragic time.
