Woman Drives Drunk, Then Pulls Out Live Streaming Video App And Hits Record

Don't drink and drive. But drinking, driving, AND video recording yourself on a live stream service while doing it takes an extra dose of stupidity.

According to WTSP 10 News, Lakeland, Florida police say Whitney Beall, 23, was driving drunk when she decided to video record herself with her smartphone using an app called Periscope that allows live streaming.

After admitting that she was drunk and didn't know where she was while driving, viewers of the live video on Periscope expressed concern, and at least one person called 911. Police did quick work in using the footage in the video to pinpoint Beall's location and attempted to stop her.

During the traffic stop, Beall hit a curb. After finally coming to a stop, she failed the field sobriety tests.

As ridiculous as this is, is this incident truly surprising in today's look-at-me culture?
