The Christmas retail season is just around the corner, and no parent wants to give a toy to their child that might harm them. World Against Toys Causing Harm, Inc (WATCH), an organization dedicated to monitoring the safety of toys, released its annual list of “10 Worst Toys” of the year. Each of these toys poses a risk in some way to a child.

.Hallmark “Itty Bittys” Baby Stacking Toy – WATCH says the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled the toy in August because of “fabric hats and bows that can detach, posing a choking hazard.”

.Tolo Toys Pull-Along Pony – WATCH says the cord is 19 inches long, when it is recommended that playpen and crib toys should have strings less than 12 inches long. The length of the cord poses a risk of strangulation and entanglement. Furthermore, the toy packaging does not include a warning label.

.Mattel Wonder Woman Battle Action Sword – It’s a sword. For a kid. Could cause “blunt force injuries.”

4. Hand Fidgetz Spinners – This toy, which went viral in 2017, are not by any means fool-proof. WATCH says the small parts can fall off, presenting a choking hazard.

.Marvel Spider-Man Homecoming Spider Drone, Official Movie Edition – According to WATCH, the drone is dangerous because it is powered by high-speed rotating blades. The organization recommends keeping the toy outside the home altogether.

.Hasbro Nerf Zombie Strike Dreadbolt Crossbow – WATCH says that “The force of the arrow launch presents the potential for eye and facial injuries.”

.Slackers Slackline Classic Series Kit – WATCH warns of potential strangulation from the rope, and also of the potential to fall from the tightrope.

.Oval Xylophone – The drumstick handle, which is nine-and-a-half inches long, could get lodged in a baby’s airway if ingested.

.Razor Jetts Heel Wheels – The wheels are supposed to be strapped onto the heels of a kid’s shoes, which in theory would turn them into rear-wheel roller skates. WATCH warns that this could cause the child to lose her balance, inevitably causing her to take a spill onto the pavement, which could lead to a broken bone.

.Melissa & Doug Mine to Love Brianna BabyDoll – This toy may look cute and cuddly, but WATCH wanrs that her removable ponytail holders could present a choking hazard.
