Why Watching Cat Videos Is GOOD For You In A Totally UNEXPECTED Way!

Watching funny, furry, cute cat videos is good for you. And it's not just because laughter is medicine for the soul. They can also make you more productive after watching them at work.

According to a psychology study by David Cheng and Lu Wang of the University of New South Wales in Australia, watching funny videos in the workplace "may have a functional impact on important behaviors in the workplace and that exposure to humor may increase the effectiveness of employees."

How does it work?

Taking a short break from work can take your mind off workplace stress, and watching something humorous makes that a whole lot easier. This brief separation from your daily tasks can rejuvenate your brain, allowing you to then concentrate for longer on a difficult task than if you hadn't taken that funny cat video break.

Test subjects in the study who watched humorous videos were twice as productive at assigned tasks afterwards than those who watched peaceful but non-funny videos.

The study concluded, “We suggest that humor is not only enjoyable, but more importantly, energizing.”

Just be sure to convince your boss of this before you try, or he might not think it's funny at all.
