Normally, Franklin Graham stands against the liberal media. But in this case, he is agreeing.
Here's his latest Facebook post:
The New York Times article says, "Even more striking are the proximate causes of rising mortality. Basically, white Americans are, in increasing numbers, killing themselves, directly or indirectly. Suicide is way up, and so are deaths from drug poisoning and the chronic liver disease that excessive drinking can cause. We’ve seen this kind of thing in other times and places – for example, in the plunging life expectancy that afflicted Russia after the fall of Communism. But it’s a shock to see it, even in an attenuated form, in America."
Yet while Graham agrees with the diagnosis, he believes there is a known cure. And it is Jesus. As he wrote, "The answer for our nation and for all people in despair is found in God’s Son, Jesus Christ."
What do you think? Do you think Americans are despairing more than usual? And what do you think the cause is--and the answer? Let us know your thoughts in the Comments! We love to hear from you!
