Which Parts Of The U.S. Are In A Drought Right Now? Take A Look

Several states in the U.S. are currently experiencing extreme and exceptional droughts, but thankfully many of those droughts are considered short-term for now. A new United States Drought Monitor map reveals which areas of the country are experiencing dry to exceptional drought intensities and which areas have short-term (S) droughts versus long-term (L) droughts.

As can be clearly seen, most of California is still experiencing a drought with a big chunk in very serious condition. But now the South's drought is looking just as bad and even more widespread, albeit more short-term. Wildfires continue to rage across seven southeastern states as investigators look for suspected arsons who may be lighting new fires every day in the parched landscape, according to Fox News.
