Rapper Snoop Dogg started out his newest music video “Lavender” with encouraging violence against police officers, and he ended it with a mock assassination of President Trump.
In the video, which we won’t link to here due to its heavy usage of profanity, Snoop Dogg raps, “And the night will fall, this is death to you all; when the nighttime falls, this the final call,” while aiming a large revolver at a Trump lookalike in clown face paint.
He then pulls the trigger, releasing an explosion and a “bang” flag instead of a bullet. The next scene shows Trump still alive but in chains and Snoop Dogg and another man pretend to beat him.
For critics of the video, it begs the question, what would have happened if someone had made a video like this about President Obama?
According to The Blaze, rapper and “Law & Order: SVU” actor Ice-T was asked that question.
“I think it’d be terrible,” he answered.
He explained, “Obama wasn’t the same kind of guy as Trump. It was very hard to make an Obama joke because of his race, because Obama was such a smooth character.”
Then he added, “Like, I think Trump brings a lot of these jokes on to himself. He’s just such a character, and he acts like a clown.”
“He gives these [joke writers] so much material,” Ice-T concluded.
In other words, it’s OK to encourage the assassination of a president as long as he’s white and you don’t like him?
