There are many ways to use the money donated to help tens of thousands of Texas impacted by Hurricane Harvey. People have been left homeless, and according to ABC's latest numbers, more than 185,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed by the storm.
One organization thinks it has a better use for its money than helping the homeless. They are earmarking their money for "emergency" abortions. On Thursday, the Austin-based Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity announced that they had created a fund for victims of the storm who are also looking for an abortion.
“With increased barriers like temporary clinic closures, displacement, loss of homes/vehicles, and more, access to abortion just got even more difficult for those affected by Harvey,” The Lilith Fund posted to Facebook on Thursday morning. “Join us in supporting Harvey survivors seeking an abortion but cannot afford it.”
The whole purpose of the Lilith Fund is to help people in Texas exercise "their fundamental right to abortion by removing barriers to access." However, it's disturbing that their main focus is on killing more Texans—and further victimizing the mothers—by funding abortions.
Please pray for all the pregnant women in Texas. Pray that those who are contemplating abortion will choose life, and that all pregnant women will experience health in the midst of a catastrophe. If you feel called to help women, donate to the Houston Coalition for Life, which will support women in their pregnancies.
