It would be easy for Tim Tebow to be bitter or sad on the morning of the Super Bowl. The team he played for and had led to the playoffs years ago, the Denver Broncos, were to be on the field — and Tim Tebow would be in the stands and not playing.
For someone who wanted with all his heart to be an NFL quarterback, it would be easy to be bitter when no NFL teams wanted him. Tim was a Heisman Trophy and national championship winner in college, and led the Denver Broncos to the playoffs and a playoff victory.
So on the morning of the Super Bowl, do we see him bitter, or sad, or regretful? The Scripture he shared on Facebook was John 15:9, in which Jesus says to His disciples:
"As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love."
Tim shared, "God created you in love, by love, and for love."
That love means loving others even when they don't treat you the way you would like to be treated. It means loving the Denver Broncos organization even when they let you go. And it means loving like Jesus loved -- everyone, all the time, everywhere.
So is Tim Tebow disappointed not to be playing? I am sure he is. But is he still committed to glorifying God and loving others even in the midst of things not going his way? Yes he is!
