Homeless people can be especially vulnerable in our society, especially women. The mentally challenged can be incredibly vulnerable as well, and some homeless people suffer from mental illness. Yet, the Progressives at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are completing a new set of regulations that would put both groups at considerable risk when they seek help from homeless shelters.
According to The Hill, the new rules will allow people to go to the homeless shelter that corresponds with their "gender identity" even if it doesn't match their biological sex.
Frighteningly, the new HUD regulations also order shelter staff to ignore the "complaints of other shelter residents" who feel unsafe living with a transgender person of the opposite gender.
Additionally, HUD states: "It is likewise prohibited to deny appropriate placement based on a perceived threat to health or safety that can be mitigated some other less burdensome way.”
In other words, the Left now wants to deny years of feminist progress by disregarding particularly vulnerable women who feel uncomfortable with, threatened by, or unsafe with living in close quarters with particular men.
Ignoring complaints from women seems to fly into the face of Hillary Clinton's campaign pledge to victims: "Don’t let anyone silence your voice. You have the right to be heard. You have the right to be believed, and we’re with you."
Ironically, the UK Daily Mail discovered that the last sentence of that statement has been removed from Hillary's campaign website.
