A chemical weapon attack by the Syrian government killed nearly 80 civilians early April.
Many details were assumed regarding how (if it all) Russia played into the attack, but factual information was unknown until Monday, April 10th.
The Associated Press reported that a Senior U.S. Official confirmed on Monday that a drone on scene was indeed Russian-operated, inferring that they actually may have known about the attack before it occurred.
“The United States has now concluded that Russia knew in advance of Syria’s chemical weapon attack that happened last week.”
The Russian drone flew over a Syrian hospital as victims were seeking treatment. Just hours later, the jet (still unknown if it was Russian or Syrian-operated) bombed the hospital ‘to cover up usage of chemical weapons’.
Fox News also reported on the incident, claiming ‘if the Russians knew it was going to happen and allowed it to happen... this just took a dramatic turn’.
