What?! Los Angeles Area Looks To Toilets To Solve Drinking Water Shortage

It takes an effort to keep your dog from drinking out of the toilet, but according to the Los Angeles area's Metropolitan Water District, Fido might have the right idea.

According to CNBC, the cashed-strapped region dealing with water shortages is looking at a $1 billion "toilet to tap" program that turns potty wastewater into clean drinking water.

This may sound disgusting, but the purification process used is similar to the natural purification of water as it passes through the ground and provides a cheaper alternative to bringing water into the heavily-populated, semi-desert metro area.

But would you be able to drink the new L.A. water without making a face?
