On Monday, Lindsay Lohan, whose life has seemed like a textbook Hollywood train wreck since her child acting days, tweeted her support from President Trump. And it’s blowing people’s minds.
On Twitter, she wrote, “THIS IS our president. Stop #bullying him & start trusting him. Thank you personally for supporting #THEUSA.”
She was writing in response to a story about President Trump backing the fight to save Charlie Gard, a seriously ill baby who is being held by a British hospital as his parents desperately struggle to get him back so they can seek advanced treatment for him elsewhere. British physicians are planning to remove Charlie’s life support, and the British government has refused to even let the Vatican take him to their own hospital, according to the New York Daily News.
It’s British medical opinion that it’s in Charlie’s best interest to remove his respirator and end his life. Their decision has led to a massive international backlash, especially in America.
Lohan’s tweet was in reply to a woman named Leah (@LeahR77) who said, “For ALL YOU CRYBABIES At @CNN Whining About Trump Beating Up Your Logo Take A Look At What A REAL POTUS & Man Does #4thOfJuly2017 #MAGA.”
On Wednesday, Lohan’s tweet went viral as Fox News, Variety, and other media outlets picked it up. It’s an unexpected endorsement from an actress who sought to do a USO tour with Hillary Clinton, according to Elle. She also supported Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in 2012, according to the Huffington Post, before switching her support to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama after ABC News called her a “political turncoat,” according to Fox News.
Not surprisingly, she’s received both praise and criticism in many social media replies to her tweet.
