What is the True Meaning of Christmas?

Is it presents, and Santa Claus, and reindeer?

The true meaning of Christmas is it is a birthday celebration -- the birthday of Jesus Christ!

Originally, there have always been holidays in the winter; and no one really knows the exact day of Jesus' birth. But for many centuries, Christians everywhere have celebrated Dec. 25 as the day of Jesus Christ's birthday.

While the exact date may not be important, what is very important for Christians everywhere is to honor their savior Jesus Christ. The story of Jesus' birth is told in the Bible; He was born to the Virgin Mary in Bethlehem and was laid in a manger because there was no room in the inn. Shepherds heard about His birth from angels and ran to see. Wise men came soon thereafter, following a star that led the way.

And for centuries since then people all over the world honor Jesus Christ Who came to earth as a baby and became our Savior. So while presents are great; and Christmas trees are very nice; and Santa Claus is a nice tradition for kids; the real meaning of Christmas is it is a birthday celebration for Jesus Christ.

So Merry Christmas! And Happy Birthday Jesus!
