Michael and Lucifer/Satan are two of the most prominent angels in the Bible — one who did great things for God and the other who tried to be God. Revelation 12:7-12 tells us that Michael and Satan will have a great battle in heaven, and Satan's evil forces will not prevail.
Lucifer's name means "bearer of light" or "morning star." Ezekiel 28 describes how he was "full of wisdom and perfect in beauty," but he was filled with pride and sought to take God's place.
Ironically, the archangel Michael's name is a rhetorical question in Hebrew that means: "Who is like God?"
Praise God for providing angels to protect us from the wicked one!
