What Bush’s Daughter Just Said To Planned Parenthood Will Hurt Your Head

With former President George W. Bush breaking his 8-year silence during Obama’s administration to now speak out against President Trump, and with his daughter Barbara Pierce Bush agreeing to speak to a Planned Parenthood conference, the Bush family certainly seems to be distancing themselves from the conservatives who elected them.

As for what keynote speaker Barbara Pierce actually said in front of the Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas' annual Fort Worth luncheon on Wednesday, it will seriously hurt your head.

According to the Texas Tribune, Barbara, 35, expressed that she was surprised that Trump won the election and made it clear that because of that, Planned Parenthood’s “work could not matter more.”

Without mention abortion by name, she said that women’s health is still being treated by some people as not mattering.

And without mentioning that Planned Parenthood is, by far, the biggest provider of abortions in America, Barbara said, “To me, Planned Parenthood is a one-stop-shop for everything that has to do with women’s health and all social problems that don’t have to do with women’s health.”

Then she said something to the crowd that made even less sense.

“I hope you all realize the incredible investment that you’re making for both women and also their kids, their kids' education and their income level,” Barbara assured them. “And that is unique and incredible. It’s a silver bullet, if you ask me.”

She didn’t elaborate on how Planned Parenthood is doing anything to help kids, kids’ education level, or the amount of money their mother has. Perhaps she’s spinning off the age-old feminist mantra that children are the greatest detriment to a woman’s health, education, and economic well-being.

According to Cosmopolitan, she also said, “I am proud to stand with Planned Parenthood not only because women, regardless of where they are from, deserve to live dignified, healthy lives, [but] … because it’s a really good investment. We know that when women are healthy, their families and their children are healthier, too.”

Again, no mention of the fact that Planned Parenthood is primarily a mass-abortion clinic, killing an average of 888 babies a day in 2014, according to Family Research Council.
