Wedding Moved To Hospice Room During Mom's Last Days

Deneen Fendig didn’t have long to live.  She had lost her battle with cancer and had been spending her final days in hospice care.

Not willing to go through a wedding without his mother present, Jeff and his fiancee moved up their wedding date and changed venues at the last minute.

The small and beautiful ceremony was performed at the hospice in Deneen’s room with the hospice chaplain presiding.  While the event was bittersweet due to the underlying circumstances, it shows how great the love between a mother and son is as well as what it means to honor one’s parents.

Deneen passed away a few days later, but Jeff and his wife will always have the cherished memory of Jeff’s mother smiling as they joined in holy matrimony.
