Brooke Fraser won a Grammy award under her married name, Brooke Ligertwood, for the song What A Beautiful Name, which she wrote for Hillsong Church.
Fraser accepted the award with Ben Fielding, her co-writer on the song, on stage inside Madison Square Garden, New York, on Monday.
What A Beautiful Name, which has more than 112 million YouTube views, includes the lyrics: "What a beautiful name it is / The name of Jesus / What a powerful name it is / The name of Jesus."
It is the first Grammy nomination for Hillsong Worship. Hillsong’s youth music brand Young & Free was nominated in 2016 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, for its album titled Youth Revival, losing out to Hillary Scott’s Love Remains.
Brooke has performed with her husband as part of the church's Los Angeles core leadership team under the name Brooke Ligertwood since 2008.
Brooke Won her first Grammy Award. The song won out over competing tracks from Casting Crowns, Natalie Grant, and MercyMe.
