Entertainment news outlet TMZ picked the wrong Hollywood actor to question about Donald Trump and his alleged call to assassinate Hillary Clinton.
Cornering Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight at a restaurant, TMZ got more than they bargained for when making accusations about Trump to the politically conservative entertainer. Watch this epic and hilarious exchange:
TMZ: What are your thoughts about the comments Trump made the other day about the possible assassination of Hillary Clinton.
Voight: All these things are being blown way out of proportion. People are trying to make him look foolish. He's a terrific guy. I know him personally. He's got a good sense of humor. He's off the cuff. He's a lot of fun, just like we are today. Like that.
TMZ: Do you think that that statement is irresponsible for anyone to make, to joke about, assassinating a presidential candidate?
Voight: First of all, you using the word. He didn't say that word. Don't do that. Don't distort what he said. He's fooling around. Just like you sometimes fool around, if you have a sense of humor...
TMZ: [I] always fool around.
Voight: OK, so you can be in a lot of trouble if people distort your words.
Voight: That's what he goes through. All the time. Every time.
TMZ: Should he clarify more so, or come out and apologize, maybe?
Voight: Guys, he's being attacked continuously. They're taking apart everything he does. He made a wonderful speech yesterday.
Voight: Everybody should sit down and listen to that speech, because it's full of substance and it tells you want the problems are and tells you how to answer those problems.
TMZ: Do you think it's dog whistle politics to say 2nd Amendment people might know how to take care of [Hillary]?
Voight: Listen, I don't know where you get these words...
TMZ: I'm playing devil's advocate.
Voight: ...but you're on the other side.
Bystander: He's TMZ! He's TMZ!
Voight: Put that thing down and let's get down to fisticuffs!
