On Wednesday morning, several Congressmen and their families were involved in a train crash that killed at least one person. While traveling to West Virginia for a GOP retreat, the Amtrak suddenly collided with a garbage truck.

Thankfully, no members of Congress were severely hurt. However, the driver of the truck sadly passed away on the scene and the other passengers of the truck were injured.

As the crash remains under investigation and the public awaits for more details to emerge, President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are carefully monitoring the situation.

Pence responded to the train crash shortly after news broke to the public.

The Vice President stated, “Getting regular updates on the Amtrak crash involving members of Congress and their families. Praying for all involved [and] grateful for the swift action of first responders. [President Trump] and I will continue to monitor closely. I’m headed to [West Virginia] later today.”
