Retailers in America have struggled with how much to stock Ivanka Trump’s fashion brand now that she’s the daughter of a U.S. president, according to the Associated Press.
The AP reports that many stores have reduced their inventory of Ivanka products while some, like Nordstrom and QVC, have eliminated them altogether, leading to a backlash from Trump supporters.
Others who have kept a noticeable stock of Ivanka items have been sharply criticized by those critical of the president.
But despite numerous boycotts, Ivanka’s brand is prospering, according to the AP, especially in China.
Her bags, jewelry, and spa services are making important progress in the world’s second largest economy. Perhaps that shouldn’t be a surprise considering how incredibly popular she is among the Chinese.
Ivanka herself has greatly reduced her involvement in her brand to pacify accusations that she’s using her new political position to boost her business, but critics continue to claim ethics violations.
Overall, imports of Ivanka-branded items have grown an estimated 40 percent in the first three months of this year.
