Trump supporting singer Joy Villa made headlines earlier this year after she wore a ‘Make America Great Again’ dress to the 2017 Grammy Awards, publicly proclaiming her support for our president. Later in the year, she also released a ‘Make America Great Again’ song.
Following her bold moves, the singer received a lot of outrage, which she expected. Villa revealed during an interview, where the details were published by Fox News, that she even received death threats because of her political beliefs.
She stated, “I’ve gotten death threats and hate mail. All I did was wear a dress- something that was pro-Trump...I can’t really say I was surprised. I was prepared for it...They are actually attacking his supporters and attacking him- that are quite honestly disgusting and I’m appalled by it.”
On Twitter, Villa previously mentioned that regardless of the hatred, she will not be silenced. She said, “A lot of people told me to be quiet about my POTUS support before, and I listened. Not anymore. People tell me to be quiet now, but I won’t!”
Living in a nation where majority of the Mainstream Media and Hollywood share liberal biases, it is so refreshing to have a conservative star in the spotlight. Aside from ‘Villa haters’, she has many fans and Trump supporters on her side.
