You might be a "deplorable" and you didn't even know it. Hillary Clinton made that clear in a speech she gave on Friday at a New York fundraiser.
Hillary said, “You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables.’ Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it.”

She also added, "Now some of those folks, they are irredeemable, but thankfully, they are not America."
While most people would not call themselves racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, or Islamophobic, Hillary's definitions of those terms are broad, especially since it apparently covers millions and million of Trump supporters. After receiving a backlash of criticism, Hillary walked back her comments on Saturday, saying she regretted saying as many as "half" of Trump's supporters fit into her "basket of deplorables," but Trump didn't see the apology as sufficient.
In a speech in Baltimore to the National Guard Association of the United States today, Trump said Hillary must fully retract her comments.

He made clear to the audience, "I was...deeply shocked and alarmed this Friday to hear my opponent attack, slander, smear, demean these wonderful, amazing people who are supporting our campaign by the millions. Our support comes from every part of America and every walk of life."
"Nobody's heard anything like this. She called these patriotic men and women every vile name in the book. Hillary spoke with hatred and derision for the people who make this country run. She spoke with contempt for the people who thanklessly follow the rules, pay their taxes, and scratch out a living for their families."
He added, "While Hillary Clinton lives a sequestered life behind gates and walls and guards, she mocks and demeans hardworking Americans who only want their own families to enjoy a fraction of the security enjoyed by our politicians."
