The GOP tax bill officially passed the House on Wednesday, December 20th with a 224-201 vote and a 51-48 from the Senate. The legislation will soon be sent to President Trump’s desk for a signature.

The bill has been referred to as “historic” and an “extraordinary victory” under the Trump administration. ABC stated that this is the first major legislative victory under Trump since he became elected as President of the United States.

President Trump responded to the final passage of the tax bill shortly after the big news, releasing an official statement to the public.

Trump stated, “I promised the American people a big, beautiful tax cut for Christmas. With final passage of this legislation, this is exactly what they are getting,” thanking the Congress members for their support.

He continued, “Unemployment continues to fall, the stock market is at a record high, and wages will soon be on the rise. By cutting taxes and reforming the broken system, we are now pouring rocket fuel into the engine of our economy.

“America is back to winning again, and we’re growing like never before. There is a great spirit of optimism sweeping across our land,” he said, assuring the “brightest days” are ahead of the American people.
