Hillary Clinton brushed her many scandals away just long enough to place herself squarely in the midst of a new one. This time Clinton released a tasteless attack ad in which she attempted to tie Donald Trump to the racist Ku Klux Klan group and thereby implying that anyone who supports Trump is a racist.
In addition to the vile video, Clinton appeared at a campaign rally in Reno to build on her attack against Trump. “He’s taking hate groups mainstream and helping a radical fringe take over one of America’s two major political parties,” Clinton said.
Clinton ignored her ties to former members of the KKK and other very questionable figures to continue her attack. “A man with a long history of racial discrimination, who traffics in dark conspiracy theories drawn from the pages of supermarket tabloids and the dark, far reaches of the internet, should never run our government or command our military,” Clinton said.
While Clinton slammed Trump for not disavowing David Duke’s endorsement fast enough, she remained silent about her “mentor,” the former Democratic Senator Robert Byrd whom was a member of the KKK. She also did not disavow the endorsement she received from the father of the Orlando terrorist who killed 49 people this year. The terrorist’s father was featured prominently at a Hillary campaign stop in Florida and declared his open support for Hillary on national television.
Trump however saw through Hillary’s vile rhetoric. According to Fox, Trump addressed Hillary’s remarks by pointing out the truth about the Democratic party. “When Democratic policies fail, they are left with only this one tired argument, you’re a racist, racist, race, it’s a tired, disgusting argument and so totally predictable,” Trump said. “It’s the last refuge of the discredited politician.”
“For fifty years, people living in our inner cities have suffered under a failed policy regime,” Trump continued. “But the Democratic politicians, who only want to please media executives and Wall Street donors, do nothing but expand the hurt and the suffering that our inner cities and our country is going through right now.”
Trump also called out Clinton for demeaning hard working American citizens who support him. “She lies, she smears,” Trump said. “She paints decent Americans, you, as racists.”
