Trump Digs Deep For Anti-Cruz Material, Pushes This WILD Tabloid Story
The Republican race for the presidential nominee is one of the most intense and outlandish in recent memory. There has been name-calling from all campaigns as well as outright lies. The misinformation has gotten so out of hand that front runner Donald Trump gave Ted Cruz the moniker of “Lyin’ Ted.”
However, the lack of truthfulness during the campaign season isn’t limited to one individual candidate. According to the Blaze, Trump has been caught peddling information for the second time from a not so credible source.
Trump called in to “Fox and Friends” on Tuesday morning and revived a month old conspiracy theory piece from the National Enquirer in which the tabloid reported that Cruz’s father Rafael was captured in a 1963 photograph, months before JFK’s assassination, hanging out with Lee Harvey Oswald. The evidence was a small, grainy, black and white photo. The story was quickly forgotten due to lack of credibility.
On Tuesday morning, Trump expressed surprise that the National Enquirer story is not getting serious consideration. “His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being, you know, shot” Trump said. “I mean the whole thing is ridiculous. What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don’t even talk about that. That was reported and nobody talks about it. I think it’s absolutely horrible that a man can go and do that. I mean, what was he doing? What was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death, before the shooting? It’s horrible.”
This is the second time that the National Enquirer has pushed a false Cruz story, the first was when they published an article claiming that Cruz had cheated on his wife with five different women.
