On Wednesday, January 31, famous Christian singer and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks revealed the extreme tragedy that has struck her family. Sparks revealed that in a week’s time she lost her sibling, cousin, and two of her best friends.

Jordin’s stepsister, Bryanna Jackson-Frias, was only 16 years old at the time of her death. She reportedly passed away on Tuesday due to complications having to do with sickle cell anemia.

On Tuesday, the American Idol star took to Instagram to ask for prayers for her sister.

She said, “Please keep my little sister, Bryanna, in your prayers. She’s suffering from complications from sickle cell and is in the ICU fighting for her life.”

Sadly, Sparks’ mother took to Facebook on early Wednesday to announce her daughter’s death.

The singer also revealed another death in the family. Her younger cousin, “Q” passed away, although she did not reveal the nature or circumstances surrounding that loss.

On Wednesday, Sparks also lost two of her close friends. Former NBA star Rasual Butler and former American Idol contestant Leah LaBelle were in a horrific car accident and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Sparks wrote a heart-wrenching Instagram post over the losses.

She said, “Four Angels in a week. My heart is just so heavy & broken. I’m in shock, numb and feel everything all at the same time. Leah & Rasual (one of my closest friends and her amazing other half who was also a great friend), Bryanna (my step sister) and Q (my little cousin), you were such bright lights in this crazy world.”

She continued, “You made everyone better just by knowing them. And your smiles made anyone’s day better. The world is less sparkly without you in it. Rest in Peace and Power. I love you forever. Find Miles [Spark’s dog] and hug him for me.”

“Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Don’t ever skip a chance to tell someone you appreciate them or how much you love them. Please, please continue to cover their families and our family with thoughts and prayers. #unicornsdontdie #sickecellsux”

As Jordin Sparks requested, please be praying for all of the families affected by these tragic losses. Pray for peace and comfort during this difficult time. Here is the full story on the sudden death of Jordin's friends, Rasual and Leah.
