Tragedy Strikes in Legendary, Professional Wrestling Family

Smith Hart, a former professional wrestler, passed away at 68 years old after a long battle with cancer. The family released a statement to his Facebook page on Sunday, July 2nd of 2017.

Smith was a member of the legendary, professional wrestling family: The Hart Wrestling Family. The family included many members who became famous, professional wrestlers.

Stu Hart, Smith’s dad, was a WWE Hall of Famer and many of his sons followed in his footsteps of professional wrestling, including Smith himself (the oldest of his 12 siblings). Smith’s younger brothers, Bret Hart and Owen Hart, were also a part of the Hart Wrestling Family and achieved great success in the industry.

The family’s statement says, “Smith was an avid environmentalist, a humanitarian, a comical jokester, a creative force and ultimately the proverbial heart of the Hart family. Pre-deceased by his parents Stu and Helen, his siblings Owen and Dean, his wives Maria, Marla, Lianne and Zo, he is now survived by his beautiful children Tobi, Satania, (Step son Michael), Matthew and Chad as well as his grandchildren Jessica and Isabella And Amanda Steed.”

“Today Smith lost his long arduous battle with cancer. This will be the last post from this account. God bless you Smith. We all love you.”
