Political commentator and Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren was recently under fire for her comments against Democratic Senator Joe Kennedy III—the great-nephew of former president John F. Kennedy. Her remarks came after Kennedy’s response to President Trump’s State of the Union address.
Despite the fact that Trump’s historical speech was filled with a number of heartwarming stories, references to God, and statements highlighting the goodness of our country, Kennedy still attacked the Trump administration.
In his response, Kennedy accused the administration of discriminating against certain groups of people, and additionally, stated American life was headed in the direction of a “zero-sum game.”
Lahren responded to Kennedy’s speech on her personal social media accounts, calling it “pathetic” and “embarrassing,” according to the Huffington Post. While using some other colorful language, she also referred to Kennedy as a “nasty little ginger.”
Even though Lahren is well-known for her feisty and bold personality, people were outraged by her remarks. The rising star later apologized for her comments.
Lahren said, “My comments on my personal Instagram about Kennedy’s response were inappropriate and I take full responsibility for that. I got too upset. I sincerely apologize.”
Trump-supporting singer Joy Villa, who recently made headlines for her stunning pro-life dress at the Grammy Awards, applauded Lahren for her apology statement.
