Former The Blaze star Tomi Lahren is now officially suing the conservative news outlet that fired her and the man she said is personally trying to destroy her. She claims she was wrongfully terminated.
The incident stems from Lahren’s recent appearance on “The View,” where she revealed that she was pro-choice and implied, in the minds of many, that being both pro-life and pro-limited government was hypocritical.
“I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies,” she told the largely liberal discussion panel.
Some conservatives condemned her while others defended her right to free speech. The Blaze fired her not long after.
According to The Daily Caller, the lawsuit states that The Blaze founder and conservative radio talk show host Glenn Beck “embarked on a public smear campaign attacking [Lahren] and chastising her political views and opinions in a clear attempt to embarrass, humiliate, and undermine Plaintiff’s reach to her audience on social media and elsewhere.”
Lahren also claimed that her pro-choice beliefs were well-known by her boss but that he had become jealous of her overshadowing popularity, according to the The Dallas Morning News.
Beck has also publicly taken her to task for her support of President Trump, saying it wasn’t compatible with her claims of libertarian beliefs. It’s led some Lahren supporters to suggest that was a key reason he sought to fire her.
