Vocal Christian athlete Tim Tebow has made good use of his time off the field, getting involved in multiple ministries and working as a college football analyst. But despite not being picked up by the NFL, Tebow doesn't believe his days as a professional athlete are over.
According to his agent, Tebow is returning to professional sports, but instead of tossing a pigskin this time, he hopes to be swinging a bat.
ESPN reports that the former Denver Bronco is reigniting his baseball roots from high school and has actually been training for close to a year.
CAA baseball agent Brodie Van Wagenen said, "Tim's athletic ability, his work ethic, his leadership and his competitiveness were evident in football and will show in baseball. Knowing Tim's passion and desire, we won't be surprised by anything he accomplishes."
Which team is he hoping to play for?
Sources say he's already tried out for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
So is Tebow any good at baseball?
"I am beyond impressed with Tim's athleticism and swing," said former MLB catcher Chade Moeller, "and it goes without saying that he has shown a high level of discipline and strong work ethic. I see bat speed and power and real baseball talent. I truly believe Tim has the skill set and potential to achieve his goal of playing in the Major Leagues, and based on what I have seen over the past two months, it could happen relatively quickly."
