Have you ever thought you wanted short hair and made a rash haircut, only to decide you were wrong? Hair grows back, so it's not a big deal. Other things don't. Transgenderism is all the rage now in public schools. A school district in North Carolina has just rolled out a transgender curriculum that would teach students that their gender and sexuality could fall anywhere on a gender scale from boy to girl to "other."
But what are they effects of making a permanent decision about gender at such a young age? Disastrous, says the American College of Pediatricians. The Christian Post reports that the ACP estimates that the majority of kids who have Gender Dysphoria (thinking they were born in the wrong body) will later change their mind. "Primarily authored by Dr. Michelle Cretella, a Connecticut-based pediatrician, the report states that gender dysphoria is merely a 'psychological' condition and suggests that about 80 to 95 percent of children who believe that they are boys and girls trapped in the wrong body will eventually grow up to accept the reality of their biological sex."
The problem is some parents of transgendered children want to help their child transition before they've even hit puberty. What is involved in this? It's sad and scary. "The treatment of GD in childhood with hormones effectively amounts to mass experimentation on, and sterilization of, youth who are cognitively incapable of providing informed consent," the report says. "There is a serious ethical problem with allowing irreversible, life-changing procedures to be performed on minors who are too young to give valid consent themselves; adolescents cannot understand the magnitude of such decisions."
Beyond the current number of children who will think they are born in the wrong body, the public schools are rolling out a new transgender teaching that will influence children to think thoughts they probably would have never considered. Writing about why this curriculum forces him to not send his kids to public school, conservative blogger Matt Walsh writes:
"Consider how quickly many adults have been taken in by even the most extreme left wing doctrines. Most grown ups I meet are basically incapable of explaining why the left is wrong about “transgenderism,” and even fewer have the courage to oppose the narrative publicly. Yet we expect kindergartners to have the intelligence and the fortitude to take that stand? We expect kids to accept the shame and social alienation that come as a result of their allegiance to God and truth? We expect them to succeed where whole generations of adults have failed so miserably? We expect them to embrace the hatred of their peers and their superiors for the sake of their faith, when most of us won’t even be open about our beliefs on Facebook for fear of the rude comments and disapproving emojis? We expect a kid in fourth grade to have the courage and wherewithal that most adults in their forties have never shown? No. That’s not fair. It’s unreasonable. It’s too much to ask of a child. It’s just too much to ask."
The ACP calls for a complete stop of parents taking their confused children down the road of sex change. "The college recommends an immediate cessation of these interventions, as well as an end to promoting gender ideology via school curricula and legislative policies. Healthcare, school curricula and legislation must remain anchored to physical reality."
Wow. That's some intense information. Yet President Obama is adamantly trying to get this new teaching to take hold in the schools. What do you think of the new transgender curriculum and the ACP's warning?
