The Duggars and Candace Cameron Bure Have THIS In Common

Reality TV stars the Duggars and "The View" cohost have something in common aside from their professions of Christian faith, and it has some liberals steaming.

In what is blatantly a hit piece against the Duggars and Candace's family of five, the Inquisitr revealed that both families are supporters of...corporal punishment.

The Inquisitr article zeros in on both family's endorsement some years ago of the book "To Train Up A Child" by Michael and Debi Pearl.

More recently in 2008, Candace wrote, "A spanking is NEVER done in anger or in rage. It is a loving correction done with explanation and prayer to simply teach a child right from wrong."

But the Inquisitr quotes multiple commenters and new stories claiming a link joining "To Train Up a Child" and corporal punishment to child abuse, lessened brain development and even Josh Duggar's abuse of his younger siblings.

They quote a passage from the book that says: “If you have to sit on him to spank him then do not hesitate. And hold him there until he is surrendered. Prove that you are bigger, tougher, more patiently enduring and are unmoved by his wailing. Defeat him totally. Accept no conditions for surrender. No compromise. You are to rule over him as a benevolent sovereign. Your word is final.”
