Ever since Category 4 Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico, the island has been experiencing extreme devastation. It was the worst storm to directly hit the island in over 80 years, and its aftermath has included power outages, flooding, and up to $95 billion in damages.
In order to contribute funding to the hurricane relief, some celebrities have been coming up with innovative ways to help. Earlier this week, "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert announced a new campaign to raise money.
Colbert encouraged other celebrities to post awkward photos from their childhood. He said that for every photo that a celebrity shares on social media, he would donate $1,000 to relief efforts from his Ben & Jerry's AmeriCone Dream earnings.
Colbert said, "I get to determine who's a celebrity. I wanna see bowl cuts, I wanna see brace faces, I wanna see a constellation of acne across your t-zone."
Since he made the announcement, several celebrities have participated in the humorous fundraiser. Here are a few of the best photos.
What do you think about this creative way to raise money? Let us know your thoughts on Facebook and please continue to be praying for everyone affected by Hurricane Maria.
