The Los Angeles Times is reporting that a man named Kori Ali Muhammad opened fire randomly on people in downtown Fresno, California.
According to Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer, he yelled “allahu akbar” before surrendering to police. At least three people were killed.
The 39-year-old black man is also suspected in the death of a security guard last week.
“This was a random act of violence,” Dyer explained.
At least 16 shots were fired. Dyer said Muhammad had made it clear he hated the government and white people.
It is not known if this incident is connected to foreign terrorist groups or is the result of a lone wolf committing domestic terrorism.
According to Fox News, Muhammad goes by the nickname "Black Jesus." Police apprehended him by tackling him.
