Televangelist Jim Bakker, who used be a Assemblies of God and host of the PTL Club (Praise the Lord club), predicted that Christians would start a second civil war if President Trump were to be impeached, reports The Hill.
"If it happens, there will be a civil war in the United States of America. The Christians will finally come out of the shadows, because we are going to be shut up permanently if we're not careful," said Bakker on Right Wing Watch's "The Jim Bakker Show."
Why does Bakker think Christians need to revolt if President Trump is impeached? He believes Christians are in danger of losing their voice in American society.
"God says faith without works is dead. We have to do things," says Bakker.
"God has been standing with me, and I don't know about you, it's time for preachers like you, you've been doing it, to stand up and shout out," Bakker added to another pastor, Pastor Ramiro Peña of the Hispanic Advisory Council.
As the Hill reports, several House Democrats have already signed on to a bill to impeach Trump. However, it's unlikely to pass given that the Republicans control the house.
Bakker has an interesting past. He served nearly five years in prison for fraud and conspiracy connected to his original television program, "The PTL Club." He also dealt with scandal. He resigned from ministry in 1987 after he was accused of rape by a woman named Jessica Hahn, who worked at his church. Now, he has his own show, which focuses on the end times and sells survivalist food.
