Ryan Phillippe, star of popular television series ‘Shooter’, has reportedly landed himself in the hospital following a ‘freak accident’. Details regarding the accident are unknown, but he does have a ‘badly broken’ leg and was required to get surgery.

On the show, Phillippe performs many of the dangerous stunts himself instead of using a stunt double, reports USA Today. Fans appeared to believe the broken leg may have came from the ‘Shooter’ set, but the actor clarifies what happened.

Phillippe announced the news himself in a series of tweets on the morning of July 17th, 2017, revealing that it occurred during a family outing on July 16th. Thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery.

He also expresses his gratitude towards first responders following the incident and mentions he will be ‘back in action’ shortly. See his tweets below.
